UPGRADES FOR GAUTENG SCHOOLS
Eight schools in Unaville, Gauteng were the lucky winners of the Cashbuild Art-at-Heart competition. The schools each received a Cashbuild building material voucher to the value of R15 000 which means the schools will be able to improve and repair their premises. The vouchers were handed out at the Art-at-Heart ceremony at the new Cashbuild Unaville store on the 20th of February 2020.
Park Side Primary School and Lancaster Primary School were just two of the eight schools that each received a Cashbuild building material voucher.
Mrs Duduzile Hlalele, the principal of Park Side Primary School says they are so happy to be receiving this voucher from Cashbuild and will now be able to purchase some essential general maintenance items for the school. "We will be buying tools such as drills, hammers, nails, wheelbarrows, door handles, paint and light bulbs for the school, as it is always good to have these items at hand when they are most needed." She said they will also be purchasing and installing a geyser for the school kitchen so that staff will we have immediate hot water for cooking and cleaning, as they prepare meals for 813 students every day.
Lancaster Primary School's principal, Mrs Puvenesvary Padayachee said: "We will be buying door hinges and door handles, as many need to be replaced in the classrooms. We will also be buying items such as brooms, hammers, gardening tools and wheelbarrows and some blue paint to paint the outside fencing of the school grounds."
Building material vouchers totaling R120 000 were handed out at the Art-at-Heart ceremony at the new Cashbuild Unaville store on the 20th of February 2020. The children entertained everyone with singing, cultural dancing and theatrical performances.
