On June 26, 2023, Cashbuild proudly handed over the Life Park to the vibrant community of Airport View in Mafikeng.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed local chief, Kgosi White Modisenyane, Councillor Tshepiso Motshabi, and other esteemed members of the community.

This exceptional park, a visionary concept brought to life by the local non-profit organization Phela Bo Phelo (PBO), was generously donated by Cashbuild. PBO’s mission is to establish the park as a focal point for fitness, mental health, financial empowerment, and access to valuable information within the Airport View Community. The park offers a wide range of services, including weight management advice, state-of-the-art body-weight training facilities, complimentary venue hire for community meetings, events, and businesses, as well as meaningful volunteering opportunities.

At Cashbuild, we are passionately committed to community development in the areas where we trade. Our efforts encompass impactful initiatives such as the establishment of outdoor gyms/parks, community gardens, and soccer fields, all aimed at enhancing the overall well-being of our communities.

“We consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have Cashbuild as a partner in our mission to improve the lives of individuals in our communities through socially relevant programs like ours,” expressed Tshepiso Gcabo, Chairperson of PBO.

During the event, the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), South African Weather Service (SAWS), and Provincial Emergency Medical Services took the opportunity to deliver informative presentations on the diverse range of services and exciting career prospects available within their respective organizations.

A multitude of local businesses and stakeholders have played pivotal roles in the development of the Life Park. This momentous handover marks Phase 2 of the park’s construction, with Phases 3 and 4 scheduled for completion in early 2024.

Phela Bophelo Organization (PBO), an esteemed non-profit organization based in the North West province, is dedicated to promoting physical, mental, and financial well-being within communities facing significant socio-economic challenges.

“We have embarked on an incredible journey with this remarkable local NPO. Their unwavering dedication and proactive approach have truly impressed us at Cashbuild. We believe in collaborating with such organizations as we strive to uplift the communities in which we trade,” stated Thembelani Tukwayo, Head of Community Support Initiatives at Cashbuild.
