Cashbuild Appoints Local Company to build Mabopane Local Enterprise Centre. Cashbuild is happy to announce that a company based in Mabopane will be responsible for the construction of the ground-breaking local enterprise centre that will soon open in the area later this year. LSM Developmental Projects and Allied Services is a construction firm owned and operated by young people in Mabopane and will have a huge opportunity to build this centre.
The centre is being constructed outside the Cashbuild Store in the area and will be rented out to small businesses from this township that lies further north of Pretoria. Manager for Community Support Initiatives at Cashbuild, Thembelani Tukwayo says this is a major empowerment project as it will help create a thriving local economy and the task given to LSM Development is important.
“We have employed, LSM Development Projects and Allied Services which is a locally based contractor. This is a major opportunity for them to build a centre of this nature using shipping containers and we hope that from the experienced gain during this project they will be able to bid for more work and therefore grow their business in the future. We are thrilled that the centre will create 30 job opportunities during the construction phase,” proclaims Mr Tukwayo.
The centre will be tenanted by an Internet Café, Construction tool Hire, Mabopane Carpentry showroom, African Hair Products Store, Hair Salon/Nail Bar and Chesa Nyama and Curtains and Blinds Showroom. All these stores will be used by local community members and more importantly will be independently owned and operated by local businesses.
LSM Developmental Project and Services were chosen from seven local construction companies who summited bids for this opportunity.
The owner of LSM Developmental Projects cc, Mr Lefa Moloisane said “We are quite excited about this project on many levels. Its opportunity for our business to gain invaluable expertise on building a structure using shipping containers but it is also an opportunity to create a space for our local businesses to work and sell from. Above all, this is a business to us as well as we are contracted by a big company boosting our profile and confidence.”
Concludes Mr Tukwayo: “This initiative has been in planning for a long time and faced many planning challenges but I am glad that we are live this time as our country needs a collective effort to inject life back to our economy and this is quite opportune.”
