The Diversified Industrialist Group approached Cashbuild to join hands and donate to Thulasizwe School for Autism. Cashbuild has donated some stationery and heaters to the value of R26 000. Thulasizwe School for Autism is a school situated in Orlando West, Soweto. To date, Thulasizwe School remains the only school in Soweto catering to learners affected by autism. While many private schools in South Africa offer special care for children with autism, the high fees are too prohibitive for many parents.

Thulasizwe School is the first state-run school for children with special needs, and parents do not pay fees for their children’s registration.

Mr Sizwe Kotane from Diversified Industrialist Group said, “Thank you for your concerted effort towards improving the lives of the learners at Thulasizwe School for Autism. We also take great pleasure in partnering with Cashbuild towards this very important cause. On behalf of Thulasizwe School for Autism and Diversified Industrialist Group, I express our greatest appreciation to Cashbuild for partnering with Diversified Industrialist Group towards taking deliberate steps at improving the lives of vulnerable members of our society.”

Cashbuild’s Head of CSI, Mr Thembelani Tukwayo, said, “We can only make lasting change through partnership, and it was great to work with Mr Kotane and his team for the benefit of this community. I hope the school will continue to provide quality care to those children in need.”
